Hello! Lu here, or Lucija Bergere (loo-tzie-yah behr-geh-reh), if we’re being official. I am a Latvian illustrator and writer currently living in Portland, Oregon. I got a BA in psychology from a tiny college in Iowa and worked as a mental health case manager before returning to my true passion and studying illustration at the Pacific Northwest College of Art.

My biggest inspirations are moss-covered fir trees, decorative architecture, especially if there are statues and trimmings involved, but mostly people doing everyday things like walking their dog, playing music, cooking food, or feeding pigeons in a park. There is so much magic in the seemingly mundane.
