Hello, Lu here!

I am an artist who loves combining traditional media and has a soft spot for projects that revolve around memories, identity and mental health.

Originally from Latvia, I moved to Portland, Oregon in 2018 after getting a BA in Psychology from a tiny college in Iowa. Though I had always loved drawing, it took a while to find my way back to it. I spent years working in food service and specialty coffee while dreaming of projects I would love to bring to life. 

While in Portland, I went to the Pacific Northwest College of Art to study illustration, and also learned to bury myself in my sketchbooks. I love drawing people doing everyday things like walking their dog, playing music, or sitting in the park and feeding pigeons. There is so much magic in the seemingly mundane. 

I am currently studying in the Children’s Book Illustration master’s program at the Cambridge School of Art.
